The future of blood collection may not involve needles or finger pricks

I’ve got a number of friends (and two kids) who don’t like needles very much. But getting stuck with a needle has been required to collect enough blood to analyze a meaningful number of biomarkers. While finger prick blood collection has been another option, it’s often painful and doesn’t collect much blood.

Now there are new options emerging.

At Bionic Health, we’re always testing the latest personal health devices, diagnostics, and data collection tools to find ways to make optimizing your health as easy as possible.

Recently, I tried out the Tasso-M20 (https://lnkd.in/emuHesWU). While it can’t replace getting 6+ vials of blood we require for our Baseline module, it can collect enough blood to check for certain high-priority biomarkers that are often overlooked by traditional healthcare. The big plus? You can do this at home and it doesn’t involve a needle!

I’m happy to report that I barely felt the Tasso when I put it on. If you’ve ever put on a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM), I felt the Tasso less than when I attach a CGM.

What are your thoughts on needle-free blood collection? Could this technology change how we approach preventive healthcare?
