Mail your postcards early

The postcard we sent from Bath, England

You may be used to the mail being delivered relatively quickly in the US, but when it comes to mailing postcards from Europe, you need to change your expectations. With one week to go before heading home from the UK, we mailed some postcards from Bath. We were home before the postcards arrived.

We found that postcards can take 1–2 weeks on average assuming they make it at all. Postcards from Barcelona took two weeks. Postcards from Prague took a little over a week. A postcard we mailed from Monaco still hasn’t arrived (2 months and counting).
